Kimberley Harris  M.A., LMFT, LPC

Kimberley HarrisCounseling offers a respectful and confidential process for individuals, couples, and families to recognize their strengths and make desired changes.  Kimberley’s style of counseling is warm, empathetic, and understanding.  She believes that all people can gain insight and learn skills that will help them live a balanced and fulfilled life.  Kimberley strives to create an open, comfortable environment in which clients are able to gain awareness about themselves as well as their relationships with others.  She encourages her clients to actively participate in therapy in order to benefit fully from the counseling process.  Her developmental and insight oriented approach to counseling promotes the health and well-being of her clients.

At Foundations Counseling, Kimberley sees clients who seek counseling for a broad range of reasons, including:

• Relationship Matters:  couples and marriage counseling, premarital counseling, unresolved conflict, affairs, addictions, co-dependency, divorce, sexual issues

Kimberley has extensive experience working with individuals, couples, families, and adolescents.  She provides both short and long term counseling and has worked with several community based agencies throughout the Northern Colorado area.

Kimberley received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado where she focused her studies on marriage and family therapy.  She also completed her undergraduate degree in Human Rehabilitative Services from the University of Northern Colorado.  Kimberley is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a member of the American Counseling Association and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists.

Kimberley was an honorary recipient of a full scholarship from the Stryker Institute for Leadership Development, which is an organization dedicated to building leadership skills and fostering constructive personal and professional relationships.  She facilitated workshops on communication, conflict resolution, and personal growth. She also mentored young girls in the community to help them discover their unique strengths, build on their talents, and create goals.

Her previous employment includes time spent at North Range Behavioral Health as a family therapist, where she provided assessments, treatment planning, and counseling to individuals, couples, and families.  Previously, she worked at PsychCare Family Recovery Center counseling adolescents while also facilitating parenting classes and interpersonal coping skills educational groups.  She has also worked at Envision as an adult case manager, providing case management support to adults with developmental disabilities while collaborating with families of clients to design innovative service options.

Kimberley has abundant energy and a dynamic personality that shines through in her therapeutic style.  Her counseling philosophy centers on the idea that all people are striving to do well in their intimate relationships, but sometimes struggle to find the tools to demonstrate their good intentions.  She excels at engaging and motivating clients throughout the therapeutic process, while building hope for change and uncovering the source of communication difficulties.  She works with her clients to collaboratively develop creative strategies for change, matched to each person’s specific strengths and needs.

Dr. Ray Robinson  M.A., Psy.D., CISM, EMDR Level II

Ray Robinson

Ray combines an uncommon wealth of experience with a refreshing style of engagement and understanding.  With expertise in Family Systems Therapy, Childhood and Adolescent Issues, Pre-Marital and Marital Issues, Men’s Issues, and PTSD, Ray comes alongside people in their pain and walks with them on their journey to seek hope and healing.

Ray has over 15 years of professional counseling experience working with individuals, couples, and families.  He has a heart for people struggling with the issues of everyday life, offering developmental and instructional interventions as well as encouragement in a caring, therapeutic relationship.  Clients uniformly comment that Ray offers a steadying influence during a crisis and helps them make long term changes toward a healthier and more productive life.

Foundations Counseling is excited to recommend clients to work with Ray in several key areas: Family Relationships (couples/marital counseling, pre-marital counseling, sexuality issues, infertility concerns, parenting challenges, blended families, adoptive and foster parenting, multi-generational families, child and adolescent issues, violence or abusive patterns, addictions and co-dependency, divorce recovery, decision making for aging parents, and men's issues); Life Transitions (restoring meaning to life, career changes, death and grieving, spiritual/religious issues, male and female role issues, and vocational choices); and Mental Health Counseling / Health and Wellness (stress, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, weight issues, eating disorders, sleep disorders, trauma and abuse recovery, post-traumatic stress disorder, alcohol abuse, and substance abuse).

Dr. Robinson holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Lincoln Christian College.  He earned his Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Graduate Theological Foundation.  His passion and expertise as well as life experience as a husband and father have developed within him a heart for people who are hurting.

Ray has experience and training in helping people deal with traumatic experiences and the many manifestations of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).  He has worked with many military families to help them find peace in their lives.  He is a Level II EMDR Therapist (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a therapeutic intervention that helps individuals to process traumatic experiences.  He also utilizes TFT (Thought Field Therapy), Art Therapy, and Play Therapy to help process trauma.

Specialized training and certifications Ray has achieved include Master Family Therapist IV, Taylor Johnson Temperament Analysis, Prepare and Enrich 2000, Meyer’s Briggs Temperament Indicator, American Association of Christian Counselors Regional and World Conferences, EMDR Level II Therapist, Critical Incident Stress Management, and Marital Therapy: A Research-Based Approach through the Gottman Institute.

Ray has been married to his wife Karen since 1977 and they have 5 adult children who live in various parts of the country.  In the past, Ray and Karen have worked with couples through what they call “The Heart of Marriage”, a weekend seminar that encourages couples to focus on one another and strengthen their relationship so they can weather the storms of life.  He enjoys the outdoors, backpacking, rock climbing, rappelling, white water rafting, and fishing.

Jennifer Reed  M.A., M.A.

Jennifer ReedJennifer believes that counseling is an integral part of successful personal development, and is passionate about facilitating growth in her clients’ personal and professional lives.  She provides a warm, supportive environment and partners with her clients so they may better explore the journey of life’s changes and learn to empower themselves.  Jennifer works with men and women who are in various states of transition, including professional development, individual growth, and relationship enhancement, as well as sorting through the various challenges that life delivers.  She believes that each person is resourceful and able to bring about their own healing in order to better thrive in their lives.

At Foundations Counseling, Jennifer sees clients who seek counseling for a broad range of reasons, including:

Jennifer employs an array of counseling techniques that are tailored to meet each client’s needs including: examining beliefs that cause behaviors, guided imagery, exploring spiritual life, and finding understanding and healing.  When working with Jennifer you can expect to work on here-and-now, present day issues, while identifying areas for healing and growth.

She has earned two Master of Arts Degrees; one in Organizational Psychology from Alliant International University, San Francisco, and another in Counseling from Argosy University, Denver.  She also earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from California State University, Chico.

Jennifer has worked for over 10 years in the area of human development.  Her previous experience includes working with adult and adolescent groups at Mountain Crest Hospital. At Creative Counseling Services she provided mental health evaluations, assessments, individual therapy for men and women, and led co-occurring groups and anger management groups.  Additionally, she worked at a safe house for abused women and children.  She has also served as a professional coach working with individuals on career transition, job satisfaction, and connecting to one’s most fulfilling career.  She has run 5 marathons and has served as a training coach for a marathon training group for first time and experienced runners.

Jennifer is married with two children.  She is committed to family and parenting issues and to helping other individuals and families develop the most contented, satisfying, and harmonious atmosphere possible in their homes.

Chris Berger  M.A., NCC

Chris BergerClients find Chris Berger’s style to be a healthy balance of warm compassion, skilled support, and gentle confrontation. He encourages clients’ active participation in achieving results while providing a comfortable, non-judgmental, and supportive environment. He focuses on empowering clients to make positive life changes.

Chris sees clients who present with a variety of issues, which can be divided into three primary areas: 1) Relationship Dynamics (pre-marital counseling, marital difficulties, intimacy concerns, sexual issues, codependency, affair recovery, divorce recovery, second marriages, attachment issues, conflict resolution, anger management, communication skills, adolescent development, school problems, family relationships, parenting skills and training); 2) Growth Oriented Counseling (life transitions, career transitions, grief and loss); and 3) Clinical Counseling / Health and Wellness (anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, stress related issues, weight gain, weight loss, sleep disorders, trauma and abuse recovery, alcohol and substance abuse recovery, and sexual / internet / porn addiction recovery).

Chris has extensive experience working with individuals, couples, adolescents, and families throughout Colorado. He provides short and long term counseling services and has worked closely with medical providers, judicial services, and other therapists in the coordination of care for clients.

Chris is a National Certified Counselor. He holds a Masters of Arts in Clinical Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. He is a member of his profession’s national honor society: Chi Sigma Iota. He also holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Film and Television Production from New York University.

Chris received Primary Certification in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) after studying directly with Dr. Albert Ellis. He is a Certified Prepare/Enrich marriage counselor, has received facilitation training for divorce recovery workshops based on the seminal work of Dr. Bruce Fisher and Dr. Robert Alberti: Rebuilding: When Your Relationship Ends, and has also received specialized training in treating sexual addiction from Dr. Patrick Carnes.
