Eating Disorders & Body Image Issues Learn to transition to a healthy lifestyle, free from eating disordered behaviors such as anorexia, bulimia, compulsive overeating, food addiction, and emotional eating. Foundations Counseling allows individuals to recover from their eating disorder issues, identify and implement healthier coping skills, and receive help in a compassionate and safe environment.
Our program allows individuals to identify and implement healthier coping skills, while receiving guidance in a structured environment where they feel supported and understood. Counseling can help clients begin to recognize life situations and issues that trigger eating disorder behaviors, and they can process their experiences in order to gain insight and increase mastery over their symptoms.
For long-term eating disorder recovery, we believe that clients must internalize healthy eating habits. We help our clients to internalize healthy eating behaviors with tools that work specifically for clients with eating disorders.
An initial assessment and interview allows our counselor and client to tailor a program to meet the individual’s unique requirements. Our approach includes individualized treatment plans, individual therapy sessions, nutrition education, and body image work. Each client receives educational materials and self-awareness exercises to reinforce new thought and behavior patterns.
Clients see progress as their self-awareness grows, understanding is developed, and healing takes place. Clients are provided the opportunity to become comfortable with a healthy self image and explore a life free from the disordered eating.
Our approach to treating eating disorders and body image issues includes the following components:
