Anger Management Counseling in Fort Collins, Loveland, and Windsor, CO

Foundations Counseling in Fort Collins, Loveland, and Windsor offers anger management counseling and therapy that helps you learn healthy ways to cope with anger. Anger is natural, but it can be destructive when expressed inappropriately.

Anger management therapy is not about stopping you from expressing your anger entirely. It’s okay to feel angry. In fact, trying to suppress or deny your aggression can lead to a host of physical symptoms, such as headaches, depression, stress, sleep disorders, and eating difficulties. Poor anger management can also lead you to erupt into violent behavior if your temper has been simmering without an outlet.

Everyday frustrations, impatience, and resentment can all cause your temper to flare. For many people, these are fleeting moments. They are able to take these situations in stride and quickly return to a sense of calm without exploding.

Expressed appropriately, anger can be healthy. It can protect you from dangerous situations, energize you to resolve problems, or lead to initiating reforms in society.

However if your blood boils after minor irritations – such as losing that coveted parking space – or if you are constantly seething, you may need to improve how you are managing anger. Anger that is out of control can be destructive, leading to problems in your relationships, at work, in your enjoyment of life, and with your health.

If your level of anger is high or you tend to express unhealthy aggression, you may need anger management counseling. Consider talking with an anger management counselor to better understand what’s driving your aggression and to learn how to handle your feelings in a healthier, more productive manner.

What You Can Expect with Anger Management Counseling and Therapy

Foundations Counseling offers anger management therapy in Fort Collins, Loveland, and Windsor. With anger management counseling, you can learn healthy ways to deal with anger. Utilizing cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, our anger management counseling program will teach you how to express your anger in an assertive, controlled way. CBT is a psychological approach that aims to help you recognize destructive thoughts and behavior patterns, and then teaches you how to change them. Keaton has been great! I feel real value with his counseling and guidance. I am disappointed that our Flex card will not work at your office especially since you do not take insurance.

My counselor was awesome! I can directly credit her for the improvement of my life. Her direction was always non-judgmental but also guiding and let you come to your own conclusions. The building it is in has an awesome tree and live plants growing in it which I appreciated. The chocolate while waiting was also a plus.
