Kimberley Harris has abundant energy and a dynamic personality that shines through in her therapeutic style. Her counseling philosophy centers on the idea that people strive to do well in their intimate relationships but sometimes struggle to find the tools to demonstrate their good intentions. Kimberley engages and motivates clients throughout the therapeutic process, while uncovering the source of communication difficulties and building hope for change. She works with her clients to collaboratively develop creative strategies for change, matched to each person’s strengths and needs.

At Foundations Counseling, Kimberley Harris sees clients who seek counseling for a broad range of reasons, including:

  • Relationship matters – couples and marriage counseling, pre-marriage counseling, unresolved conflict, affair recovery, addictions, codependency, divorce recovery, sexual issues
  • Relational issues – couples communication skills, teen and adolescent development, parenting skills, family relationships, attachment issues and disorders
  • Life adjustments – grief and loss, career counseling, life transitions, short-term problem solving, long-term goal planning
  • Health and wellness – stress management, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, obesity and weight loss, eating disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, personality disorders, sleep disorders, trauma and abuse recovery, drug and alcohol abuse and addiction recovery

Kimberley’s style of counseling is warm, empathetic, and understanding. She believes that all people can gain insight and learn skills that will help them live a balanced and fulfilled life. Kimberley strives to create an open, comfortable environment in which clients are able to gain awareness about themselves as well as their relationships with others. To maximize the benefits of counseling, she encourages her clients’ active participation in therapy. Her developmental and insight-oriented approach promotes the health and well-being of her clients.

Kimberley Harris received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado, where she focused on marriage and family therapy. She also completed her undergraduate degree in Human Rehabilitative Services from the University of Northern Colorado.
