Lily Maino believes that each person has the potential to lead a healthy, authentic, and fulfilling life. Yet, there are times in all our lives when our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors make that difficult. Lily sees herself as a guide on your journey to the life of your dreams. In session with her, you will receive acceptance, warmth, empathic listening and gentle challenges that will allow you to gain better insight into yourself and your relationships. Lily utilizes a variety of therapeutic techniques and interventions to help you find hope, heal past hurts, and create the life you desire. Lily believes deeply in the power of therapy to change lives.

Lily has worked with individuals, couples, children, adolescents, and families, for over 5 years in a variety of settings. Prior to joining Foundations Counseling, LLC, Lily worked at San Luis Obispo County Behavioral Health, on the Central Coast of California. While there, she worked primarily with children and teens affected by trauma, abuse, mental illness, self-injury, and substance abuse issues. Previously, at Transitions Mental Health Association, Lily provided counseling and support for parents and caregivers of children and adolescents affected by mental illness and developmental disabilities.

Lily is a Certified Parent Project® Facilitator and has taught numerous classes for parents of children involved in the juvenile justice system, probation, and foster care system. Parent Project® is a parent training and support program designed specifically for parents of strong-willed children engaging in destructive relationships and/or behaviors.

In San Diego, California, Lily was a Therapeutic Foster Parent with Walden Family Services. She also worked as a counselor at Phoenix House, a residential drug and alcohol treatment facility for adolescents.
