Life sometimes gets complicated and messy. Even during the calm times there are stressors. Jim Stacy strives to help clients develop coping skills for those times when life throws you a curve ball or hands you a situation you haven’t dealt with before. Jim believes each of us has strengths and weaknesses in different areas of our mental well-being. He considers himself a personal trainer of the mind. He helps people discover their strengths and assists them in best utilizing those abilities. He helps people address their areas of weakness in order to meet their goals and objectives. As a combat veteran, Jim has seen the effects of trauma and PTSD on individuals. He has spent time studying and analyzing the impacts of trauma and PTSD from combat, accidents, violence and childhood abuse.
Before entering the counseling profession, Jim had a 30-year career in the real estate industry. Jim was a Broker/Owner of a real estate franchise and spent time educating and training individuals in business, career assessment, and changing careers to better meet their life goals and objectives.

Jim is a National Certified Counselor (NCC). He holds a Master of Arts in Counseling: Clinical Mental Health, from Adams State University. He is a member of his profession’s national honor society, Chi Sigma lota. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce (B.S.C.) in Marketing, from the University of Louisville. Jim uses therapy techniques from a variety of disciplines depending upon the needs of the client.
