She has a strong sense of hope for people, and knows that one positive relationship can change the trajectory of a person’s life. Laura strives to provide a safe and supportive therapeutic space to assist those who desire to make a change for the better. Laura Smith has a deep passion for helping people make life purposeful and meaningful. She believes that all people have the ability to change their lives for the better.

Laura understands that sometimes the dilemmas we face hold us back from connecting with our true self, and truly enjoying the person we are designed to be. Through honesty, authenticity, genuineness, and understanding, she provides her clients with a trustworthy space so they can move towards seeing the freedom beyond the hopelessness. With the proper support and the right tools, Laura walks with her clients through this journey until they see the amazing growth that occurs along the way.

Laura Smith is a National Certified Counselor. She has a Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary and a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Sociology with a minor in Communications from the University of Colorado at Denver. She graduated Cum Laude and received Distinction from her university with an Honors Thesis in Premarital Counseling. Laura utilizes techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy, existential therapy, and strength based therapy.

Laura has extensive experience with women, helping them overcome individual trauma and abuse, including recovery from domestic violence. Also, she has provided experiential play therapy for children of all ages in a variety of settings and circumstances, including working with children who have experienced trauma which resulted from physical, sexual, and emotional abuse. In addition, she has experience with adolescents and families struggling with parenting, boundaries, and communication issues. Laura believes that every person is stronger than they think they are, and helps her clients tap into their strengths, even when all hope feels lost.
