M.A., LPCC

Life is a journey with its ups and downs.  The pleasures and the memories of the good times can be masked by pain that we are enduring.  Too often we suffer alone, trying to find something that will take away our pain or help us to forget.  Lilla Jones trusts that counseling can offer individuals the opportunity to grow and develop into their full potential while working through both the ups and the downs of life's journey.

Lilla is passionate about creating a safe space for clients to explore any past, present, or future concerns.  Problems like depression, anxiety, or addictive behaviors can surface which take control of our lives and make it impossible.  Marriages and relationships encounter trials which can seem overwhelming.  Sometimes, by ourselves, we are simply unable to find the peace we want to experience.  Lilla brings warmth, skill, and humor to the counseling relationship.  She believes that clients benefit from genuineness, acceptance, and empathy within the counseling room.  Lilla encourages clients to open their awareness to their own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and uses a skillful balance of support and gentle confrontation when working with clients.  She is committed to providing unique treatment that honors each person's individual needs.

At Foundations Counseling, Lilla Jones offers an integrative and eclectic approach, enabling her to work with a variety of clients who seek services, including:

  • Mental Health and Wellness - severe anxiety and depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, personality disorders, stress, addictions, sexual and gender issues, grief and loss, trauma and abuse recovery, boundaries, life transitions, self-care and self-esteem, empowerment
  • Marriage and Couples Counseling - intimacy, affair recovery, attachment issues, premarital counseling, divorce recovery, blended families, codependency, communication skills
  • Children, Adolescents, and Teens - adolescent development, suicidal ideation, anxiety, depression, drugs and alcohol, parenting challenges, effects of divorce, grief and loss, family communication, performance/behavior issues

Lilla Jones obtained her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado.  She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Liberal Arts from Colorado State University with an emphasis in Chemical and Biological sciences and a minor in Gerontology.

Lilla's experience includes working with children, adults, and families with severe mental illness, terminal illness, and physical and emotional trauma.  She began her career as a grief counselor at a local hospice and has also worked in community mental health where she developed proficiency as a crisis counselor.

Lilla has worked with people from a variety of backgrounds and prides herself on her ability to connect with each client's unique needs.  She seeks to honor your story and journey within therapy and move towards positive change, growth, and healing.  Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, addiction, or grief and loss, Lilla is honored to treat you with the dignity, care, and respect you deserve.
