About Meghan
Why Meghan Ekins?
Meghan Ekins brings a grounded, steady presence and a deeply human approach to therapy. Her style is warm, accepting, and developmentally attuned, helping clients of all ages feel safe enough to explore their experiences and empowered enough to grow through them. She believes that therapy is not about perfection or performance—it’s about connection. Connection to yourself, to your emotions, and to those around you.
With a background in clinical mental health and extensive work with children, teens, and young adults, Meghan understands the importance of meeting clients exactly where they are. She creates an environment where every person feels heard and respected, offering support that is both compassionate and structured. Meghan doesn’t rush the process, and she doesn’t force a narrative—she listens with care, responds with curiosity, and gently challenges clients to lean into their growth.
Clients working with Meghan often remark on her calming energy and intuitive understanding of their emotional needs. She creates a space where vulnerability feels safe and self-discovery is possible. For children, this might look like playful engagement and symbolic exploration. For teens and young adults, it’s a space to wrestle with identity, make sense of big transitions, or repair fractured relationships. For parents, it’s the opportunity to gain tools and insight that support the entire family system.
Meghan views every therapeutic relationship as a partnership. She invites her clients to take an active role in their healing while offering the structure and scaffolding to help them succeed. She blends evidence-based practices with developmentally appropriate tools—always attuned to her clients’ unique emotional and relational context. Whether it’s through play, expressive arts, open dialogue, or quiet reflection, Meghan believes in the transformative power of authentic therapeutic connection.

She has specialized training in play therapy and expressive therapeutic modalities and is passionate about making therapy engaging, accessible, and meaningful—especially for younger clients. Meghan is also experienced in trauma-informed care and works skillfully with issues related to anxiety, grief, identity, and life transitions.
One of Meghan’s defining strengths is her ability to collaborate with caregivers in a way that enhances the therapeutic process for children and teens. She believes that sustainable change is possible when the entire support system is involved. Whether it’s teaching co-regulation skills, helping navigate emotional misattunement, or guiding families through complex transitions, Meghan’s approach is thoughtful, educational, and grounded in real-world application.
Outside the therapy room, Meghan values creativity, balance, and being present with what matters. Her personal grounding in mindfulness and empathy shows up in her professional work, offering clients a calm and centered space to do the often-challenging work of emotional healing.
