About Madi

Madi Nigro believes everyone deserves a space to be their full, authentic self, free from judgment or pressure. She creates personalized, strengths-based counseling that uses expressive arts and somatic practices. Healing is not about being perfect, but about feeling safe, supported, and empowered in your own skin. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, trauma, identity development, or life changes, Madi is there for you with compassion, creativity, and care.

Clients say Madi is calming, kind, and easy to talk to. She welcomes teens, adults, couples, and families to explore emotions, work through experiences, and reconnect with resilience or curiosity. Her collaborative and genuine approach honors each person's story and helps guide them toward growth and new possibilities.

Madi’s clinical work is based on trauma-informed care and affirming support for all identities. She works with LGBTQIA+ community members and brings cultural humility and social awareness to every session. She believes therapy works best when people feel seen and fully respected.

Madi is passionate about helping clients through life transitions, such as teens facing school stress or gender exploration, adults dealing with grief or burnout, or couples working through conflict and intimacy. She meets each client where they are and helps them use their strengths, creativity, and values to build a lasting path forward.

Before becoming a counselor, Madi worked in early childhood education, sexual assault prevention, and community arts, gaining experience supporting people of all ages. She has also run a pottery studio and taught ceramics for years, combining healing and personal growth through creative expression. Madi brings this unique mix of experience and creativity to her counseling, often using art and play-based therapies for clients who benefit from different ways of exploring.

Madi uses an integrative approach, drawing on evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Person-Centered Therapy, along with strength-based interventions. She tailors each session to fit each client's unique needs, making sure every conversation is guided by respect, curiosity, and care.

Outside of therapy, Madi enjoys pottery, board games, fantasy books, and spending time with friends and chosen family. She believes joy and healing go together, and she brings humor, presence, and understanding to every relationship, knowing that growth does not always happen in a straight line.
