About Mariah
Mariah Severud believes therapy isn’t just for when we feel broken. It’s for growth, clarity, strength, and moving through life with intention. Her approach centers on the belief that everyone deserves support, and the journey forward shouldn’t be taken alone. She is dedicated to helping clients find their resilience, reconnect with values, and build a life true to themselves.
Mariah brings an honest, empowering, and down-to-earth style. If you're facing depression, anxiety, relationship stress, identity challenges, or are just figuring out what’s next, Mariah offers compassion, curiosity, and deep respect for your experience. She’s not here to “fix” you—she’s here to walk beside you, help you make sense of your story, develop tools, and reclaim your voice.
With a strong background in crisis counseling, group therapy, and adolescent care, Mariah excels at helping clients through intense emotions. She has worked with teens and young adults navigating self-harm, suicidal thoughts, identity formation, and conflicts at home or school. Clients often feel truly seen by Mariah—no performance or shame required.
Mariah also supports adults facing stress, burnout, grief, identity questions, and changes like divorce, career shifts, or parenting. She brings warmth and clarity to complex relationships, helping clients set boundaries, communicate clearly, and navigate conflict with honesty and respect.
Mariah’s work is inclusive and affirming. She has experience with LGBTQ+ clients, blended families, multigenerational households, and those from diverse backgrounds. She believes your therapy should reflect your truth—not someone else’s idea of healing.
Her foundation includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Care. Mariah uses evidence-based practices but stays focused on the person. Therapy with her feels collaborative, caring, and refreshingly real.
Outside of counseling, Mariah has spent nearly a decade motivating others in fitness spaces. She understands how physical and mental health connect. She is fascinated by change—how we resist, embrace, and grow from it. This mindset shapes her counseling and her belief that real change starts with one choice.
