About Sean
Sean Lawlor knows how quickly life can feel overwhelming or uncertain, making it easy to lose your sense of direction. If you’re facing anxiety, burnout, relationship struggles, or just feel ready for a change, Sean provides a calm and thoughtful space. It’s a place where you can pause, reflect, and reconnect with what matters most.
Sean sees therapy as more than just managing symptoms. He believes it’s a way to live more authentically, in line with your values and strengths. Even when you feel stuck or discouraged, he believes there are more options than you might realize. Sean works with you to explore what isn’t working, notice what is, and help you build a life that feels meaningful and truly your own.
Clients describe Sean as insightful, patient, and gently challenging. He takes a holistic approach to therapy, respecting the connection between mind, body, and spirit. Many people seeking personal growth, emotional clarity, or a stronger sense of purpose find his work especially helpful. Whether you’re going through a life change, healing from trauma, or feeling stuck in old habits, clients often find his approach resonates.
Sean is trained in mindfulness-based therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and trauma-informed practices. He combines a compassionate, present-focused style with proven, evidence-based tools. He helps people reduce anxiety, build self-trust, explore identity, and move through creative blocks or burnout. Sean also has a lot of experience supporting men with emotional expression, role expectations, and big life changes.
Sean has worked in many different clinical settings, such as community mental health, medical clinics, and group therapy. He supports clients with a wide range of concerns. He is certified in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy and other psychedelic-informed approaches, offering an open-minded, science-based perspective for those interested in alternative ways to heal.
Before becoming a therapist, Sean was a teacher, personal trainer, writer, and course creator. His varied background shows his belief that we are never just one thing. He sees healing as a personal and creative process. Sean brings this spirit to counseling, meeting each client with curiosity, respect, and a real desire to understand who they are and where they want to go.
Outside of therapy, Sean is always learning and exploring. He has traveled widely and studied different spiritual traditions. He wrote a book on psychedelic healing and continues to explore literature, music, and movement. His curiosity inspires his work and brings a sense of wonder to every session with clients.
