Multisystemic Therapy in Fort Collins, Loveland, and Windsor, CO

Foundations Counseling in Fort Collins, Loveland, and Windsor offers multisystemic therapy and counseling (MST) to equip parents and guardians with the tools they need to help the troubled young people they love.

MST is an effective type of functional family therapy that has been scientifically proven to help even the most troubled juveniles, regardless of the severity of their behavioral disorders. This family-based and home-based treatment tool focuses on the environments of adolescents who have a history of substance abuse, criminal offenses, and other hard-to-handle problems.

Behaviorally, we are all products of our environments, and our children are no different. If you are caring for a troubled adolescent, it’s easy to feel like there’s no way to get through to them. Our counselors can help you feel empowered to work with your child. These caring professionals understand that you might feel hopeless, angry, and confused, but they also know that there are solutions.

What you can expect with Multisystemic Therapy & Counseling

Foundations Counseling offers multisystemic therapy and counseling in Fort Collins, Loveland, and Windsor. Our therapists will show you how to work with your child using a variety of tools and techniques. Overall, MST emphasizes encouraging positive social behavior while simultaneously reducing anti-social behaviors like crime and drug abuse.

MST combines a number of therapeutic techniques, including:

These different techniques work together to change how young people interact with the different environments and systems in their lives, including family, friends, school, and their greater communities. Your counselor can come directly to your home, and is available 24/7 if needed. You’ll work closely with your counselor, and your child, to identify problems and learn new strategies for coping. You might learn how best to enforce curfews and other rules, how to limit your child’s interaction with certain peers, and how to help your child develop healthy, mutually beneficial relationships.

When to Ask for Help

If you want to help your child cope more successfully in life, but don’t know where to start, our experienced counselors can help. When you choose to utilize multisystemic treatment methods, you’ll notice an improvement in virtually all facets of your child’s life, from better family relations to improved school performance, and so much more.

Even if you’ve experienced other forms of therapy without success in the past, don’t let that deter you from trying again. MST treatment can show your entire family how to regain control and put an end to a number of deviant behaviors. If you’re concerned about your child’s future, and are ready to work together to make a lasting positive change, it’s time to ask for help.

Very easy to arrange for a preliminary free consultation. Staff at Loveland office are friendly and professional. It is a safe and non-threatening place to talk and receive actionable advice and counseling for a wide range of personal issues. Sessions do cost a bit but are well worth it in the long run! I always take away a positive idea or action plan after each session with my Councellor. Highly recommended!!!!
